Based on the Building Code requirements (RCNY 3616-04), all FDNY approved one-way emergency voice communications service, where provided in, must be for use only by the FDNY or by building personnel holding a F-53 Certificate of Fitness. If the fire alarm system with one-way communication system is installed to be used by building personnel, there must be at least one F-53 C of F holder present continuously on premises during the regular business hours of the occupancy for EACH fire alarm system with one-way voice communication system.
